What is Hypnosis?

I define hypnosis, and  I hope this helps illustrate what we’ll be trying to achieve, as the process of using your ability to relax deeply to allow you to make changes. Changes to how you deal with habits you want overcome; feelings you want to manage  – or at least accept and to cope with situations that get in the way of you being the way you want to be.

Hypnosis can help you with your feelings of  confidence and low self-esteem; can help you to reduce anxiety and deal with phobias and can help with any personal goals you may have, such as stopping smoking, losing weight and being able to cope better with any difficult situations life might throw at you.

Hypnosis is a perfectly natural state and many of you will have been there several times – when day-dreaming, for instance. Or that time you drove to work and weren’t consciously aware of anything on your journey – but you got there safely anyhow. Sound familiar? 

I have to say though that if you have any pre-existing condition such as  Delusions, Schizophrenia, Manic disorder or are in a Paranoid state, I may not be able to help you. For other medical conditions you may have, however, I may need to contact your GP, and will ask you to give me signed consent to do so; before we can start to work together – such conditions include epilepsy, heart-conditions, asthma. Or if you seek hypnosis following a brain-injury of any kind, I will need your GP to be aware of (and possibly give consent to) us working together.

I hope this helps to re-assure you, that your best interests are at the heart of everything I do and that I will always strive to ensure that you are as SAFE as you possibly can be in my care.
